BETTY JANE BOLTER, 76 years, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Tekamah, NE passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Overland Park. Betty was born August 22, 1932, in Craig, Nebraska, to Floyd “Dutch” and Doris (Pearce) Burrell. She graduated from Tekamah High School in 1951 and attended Wayne State College for one year. Betty was employed at Woodman of the World in Omaha until she married Edward L. Bolter on September 3, 1955. In April of 1960 she and her children, Boyd and Jane moved to Tekamah where she was employed at the “Dime” store for 17 years. She also worked about 3 years as an aide at the Tekamah Nursing home. Betty then moved to Norfolk, NE and worked in surrounding towns as a live in care giver until her retirement in 1997. Betty always loved her grandchildren, her family, teddy bears, dogs and cats. She was an avid reader, enjoyed walking and was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband Edward in 1975, and daughter Jane in 2005. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Boyd and Laura of Lenexa, KS; two granddaughters: Hannah of Bloomington, IN and Rachel at home; sister and brothe-in-law: Julia and Howard Schuetz of Stanton, NE, three nephews: Scott, Todd and Gregg and their families; a very special aunt: Norma McClanahan of Fort Collins, CO and 527 best friends named Teddy. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Tekamah BURIAL: Tekamah Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or to an animal shelter.
