GENEVIEVE G. (JANE) ANDREASEN passed away Monday, August 25, 2008, with her family at her side at her daughter’s home in Fremont. Jane was born August 29, 1914, on a farm near Ewing, Nebraska to Dan and Hester (Bryant) Honeywell and spent most of her childhood in this vicinity. She graduated from Elgin, Nebraska High School in 1932 in the heart of the Depression. In 1933, her father took Jane and sister, Esther, to Omaha to seek employment. They both became nannies for families in Omaha and only lived a block from each other. Jane then enrolled at Boyles Business College, followed by a job with Hanson Business firm for two years. On April 20, 1941, Jane and Chester Andreasen of Omaha were united in marriage at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons, Nebraska. They eventually moved to Oakland, Nebraska in 1946. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oakland, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star and P. E. O. Chapter EL and a former member of the Oakland Golf Club. She enjoyed helping with Cub Scouts and Brownies when her children were involved. Jane was also an avid bridge player. Many family get-togethers were held at Jane’s home, where everyone enjoyed her good cooking. Jane was a devoted wife and mother and a good friend to many. Jane will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; brothers: Alfred and Albert Honeywell both of Neligh, Nebraska; Ray Honeywell of Las Vegas, Nevada; Lloyd Honeywell of Omaha; sisters: Pearl Carlson of Golden, BC, Canada, Esther Cordova of San Francisco, California, Lura Anderson of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and two infants. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Sharon and Adrian Lofgren of Fremont; son and daughter-in-law: Stan and Phyllis Andreasen of Omaha; five grandchildren: Michael (Kathy) Lofgren, Lisa (Kelly) Bock, Michelle (Dan) LaFontaine, Ryan (Jess) Andreasen, Wendi (Chad) Pedersen; seven great grandchildren: Blake, Jonathan and Mykayla Lofgren, Brittney Bock, Cayman and Haylee LaFontaine, Grace Pedersen; three great-great grandchildren of Blake Lofgren: Braydon, Brock and Bailey; brother: Darrell Honeywell of Fremont and sister: Delores Waid of Kansas City, Missouri. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland VISITATION: Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 4 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation will also be held Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. BURIAL: Oakland Cemetery MEMORIALS: First United Methodist Church and the Friends of Oakland Community Foundation.
