MARIAN LORRAINE ANDERSON was born October 10, 1917, three miles west of the West Side Methodist Church in rural Cuming County, Nebraska to Andrew Peter and Emma M. (Erickson) Olson. She passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, at Oakland Heights Nursing Home in Oakland at the age of 91 years. She had been a resident at Oakland Heights for twelve years.

Marian attended school at District No. 14 in Cuming County.

On August 21, 1937, Marian and Carl H. Anderson were united in marriage at the West Side Methodist Church. They made their home in the Oakland area,farming for many years and then moving into town. Marian was a farmer’s wife and homemaker.

She was a member of the West Side Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl H.; two sons, William Harold and Leroy; two sons-in-law, Charles Higley, Noel Finke; two sisters, Frances Nissen, Alice L. Olson; four brothers, Floren Henry, Arvid, Leslie and Leland Olson.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law: Janet Higley of Tuscon, Arizona, Delores Micheel of Bennington, Nebraska, Jolene and Dave Allen of Panama, Nebraska, sons and daughter-in-law: Leonard Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, James and Rene Anderson of Papillion, Nebraska; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, July 10, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland.

BURIAL:Westside Cemetery, rural Oakland

VISITATION: Thursday 1- 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services Oakland. Visitation will also be held Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.
