LAVERA EMMA MARTHA ANDERSON 85 years, of Craig, Nebraska, died after a short illness Wednesday May 20, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Rock Springs, Wyoming, surrounded by her family. She was born April 28, 1924 in West Point, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Anna Gerch Grafe. She attended school at Zion Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska. On December 5, 1943, she married Harold L. Anderson Sr. in Bancroft, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1988. Lavera was a member of the United Methodist Church in Craig. Her interests were sewing, cooking, quilting, canning, baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was the #1 fan of her grandsons’ stock car racing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Anderson, son Layton Dean Anderson, and granddaughter Michelle Lee Anderson. Survivors include 4 sons, Harry Anderson of Craig, Bud Anderson and wife Mary of Richland, MO, Gerry Anderson and wife Lucille of Louisville, KY, and Jim Anderson and wife Joyce of Norfolk, NE; 6 daughters, Wanda Puffer of Craig, Judy Smith and husband Clark of Omaha, Jane Anderson and husband Bob of Rock Springs, Janice Paulson and husband Don of Oxford, NE, Connie Delp and husband Chuck of Rock Springs, Lesa Parker and husband Robert of Fremont, NE; daughter-in-law, Betty Anderson of Blair, NE; sister, Viola Hass and husband Ivan of Wisner, NE; sister-in-law, Laverne Molvig of Omaha; 24 grandchildren, Kent and Wesley Puffer of Craig, Amy Guill of Oakland, NE, Misty Rushlow of Blair, Lillian Snyder of Tekamah, Harold Dutro of Colorado, Loretta Delp of New York, Wendy Ellzey of Crocker, MO, Kandy Walters of Swedeborg, MO, Bud Jr. Anderson of Richland, MO, Cherri Simmons and Melissa Anderson both of Crocker, MO, Gerry Gene Anderson of St. Roberts, MO, Tony Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO, Mike, Bret, Jacob and Joseph Anderson, Christopher and Casey Delp, and Crista Hymas all of Rock Springs, Jessica Anderson of Woodbine, IA, Andrew Anderson of Norfork, NE, and Quenton Paulson of Oxford, NE; numerous great-grandchildren; several cousins; two nephews, Russell Hass of Houston, TX, and Kelly Hass of Valentine, NE. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Craig United Methodist Church. VISITATION: Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 5 - 8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation Wednesday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
